Innovative solutions through successful collaboration in the SME sector: NEHER and SCHLOTE revolutionise manufacturing processes

Wernigerode / Ostrach-Einhart, 28 August 2024 - In an age characterised by constant change and technological progress, NEHER and SCHLOTE are demonstrating their innovative strength and ability to work together. Together, the two medium-sized companies have broken new ground to overcome challenges in the manufacturing industry and significantly increase the efficiency of their processes.

The initial situation was a complex problem at SCHLOTE, a leading manufacturer in the metalworking sector. Mr Bauer, responsible for Plant 2, was faced with the challenge of drastically reducing downtime and costs caused by defective milling cutters. These failures were caused by blasting material residues and dirt in the bores of the workpieces and sensitive milling cutters.

The solution came about through cooperation with NEHER, a company specialising in innovative 3D printing technologies. Together, they developed a new coolant guide that was produced using 3D printing. This innovative solution not only ensured more effective cooling and cleaning of the workpieces, but also significantly reduced downtime and costs.

‘The collaboration with NEHER was a turning point for us,’ comments Mr Ralf Bauer, Work Preparation at GAW Wernigerode, a SCHLOTE Group plant, on the successful partnership. ‘By using 3D printing, we were not only able to optimise our processes, but also explore new ways of collaboration and innovation.’
The collaboration with Schlote was also of great importance to NEHER. ‘We are proud to be part of this pioneering solution,’ says Mr Jens Jendretzke from NEHER. ‘It shows how committed partnerships and innovative technologies can push the boundaries of what is possible.’

This successful collaboration between NEHER and SCHLOTE is an example of how medium-sized companies can develop ground-breaking solutions through co-operation and innovation to meet the challenges of the modern manufacturing industry.
