Special visit to GAW: Minister Dr Lydia Hüskens recognises innovative strength and progress in digitalisation
Wernigerode, 06.05.2024 - The Schlote Group had the great honour of welcoming the Minister for Infrastructure and Digitalisation in Saxony-Anhalt, Dr Lydia Hüskens, to its plant in Wernigerode at the end of April. The Minister's visit marked an important milestone in the recognition of the company's innovative strength and efforts towards digitalisation in the manufacturing industry.
The Minister was received by high-ranking representatives of the Schlote Group, including Plant Manager Thomas Gudella, Dr Sebastian Richarz, Head of Technology Development, Works Council Chairman Sven Fricke and Sandra Schmitt, Head of Corporate Communications. Together, the Minister was given a detailed insight into the innovative processes of the Schlote Group.
Digitalisation plays a crucial role for the Schlote Group in continuously optimising its manufacturing processes and always offering its customers first-class solutions. There is a strong focus on the digitalisation of data flows directly in production (smart factory). Core topics on the path to digital transformation are the systematic recording of energy data and the consistent development and expansion of digital twins of all machines and systems as well as the operating resources within the fully automated production lines. To this end, comprehensive machine data and tool movement data are recorded in real time according to a uniform company-wide system and made available to users via visualisations and dashboards. The overarching goal of the digitalisation strategy is the horizontal networking of production data in order to create a high degree of transparency and ultimately increase responsiveness and production efficiency.
During the visit, practical insights were provided and a captivating dialogue was held on the implementation of digital processes in the production area. This opportunity made it possible to discuss the importance of digitalisation in the manufacturing industry and to jointly drive future developments.
The Schlote Group would like to thank Minister Dr Lydia Hüskens for her inspiring visit and the constructive discussions. Her interest in the activities of the Schlote Group confirms that the company is on the right track to continue to be successful in the future and to further expand its position as one of the leading companies in the industry.
